It’s hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner already! The holidays are such a festive time of year consisting of family, friends, food and.. shopping! While your holiday shopping list may feel a little overwhelming at this point, I’m here to give you a few pointers so ease that unwanted holiday stress. My “Holiday Gift Guide” covers everyone from your significant other to your bestie!
My favorite motto when it comes to shopping for the little ones is, “something they want, something they need, something to wear & something to read.” This provides such a good variety of gifts and doesn’t have to break the bank. Your little ones are sure to help with the first part! As for the rest, does your mini-me need something new for school or for their favorite afternoon activity? Now is the perfect time to spring for it! Finish the gift off with an age-appropriate book and a trendy clothing item or accessory and voila!
The significant other:
Significant others can be tough to shop for since it always seems they have everything they need. The key is to put your good listening skills to use or to find something they never knew they wanted! Did your S.O. mention a show they’ve just been dying to see? Get ‘em some tickets for the holidays! Has your better half all of a sudden taken an interest in trying new recipes? Set up a cooking class with an expert chef. When you can’t come up with a concrete material item, sometimes an experience it the way to go instead. Memories last a lifetime!
Sometimes we just know our best friends and siblings better than we know ourselves, right?! This holiday season, why not treat your bestie to the comfort she deserves with a brand new pair of Ja-Vie Flats? Forego the mani & pedi gift card this year and get that gal a functional gift that will last, all while giving her the gift of style. If she’s the life of the party extrovert, snag her a fun pattern like the Red Plaid. If she’s more of a neutrals kinda gal, why not spring for the Black Ruffle? There’s truly something for everyone!
The parents & in-laws:
When it comes to shopping for the parents and/or your in-laws, it’s a good idea to think about their hobbies. Are they avid golfers? Get them a round of golf somewhere fun and throw in some accessories for the occasion like some new golf attire. Do they hit the local movie theater pretty often? Whip up a cute & fun basket with movie tickets, popcorn and all the theater-lovers accoutrements!
Depending on your job title and relationship with your boss, this is where things can get tricky! I always recommend to keep it on the professional side with a gift card to somewhere you know he or she loves. Send your boss to dine at their favorite restaurant, for a mani & pedi at their favorite salon, or give them the gift of endless coffee with a Starbuck’s gift card! You can’t go wrong with a gift card and the thoughtful reasoning behind your choice will never go unnoticed.
This time of year is meant to be joyous, not stressful! I hope my shopping guide has helped make your season a little brighter. Happy holidays!
