Summer is officially here, woohoo! It’s time to break out the flamingo-shaped pool floats, the colorful swimsuits & delicious frozen umbrella drinks. As the hotter days roll in, staying cool is key. What better way to stay cool than with some fun new recipes? Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite summer food and drink recipes that I’ve come across!
What’s more refreshing during the warm summer months than a homemade fresh juicy fruit pop? Not much! Great for the kids & adults alike, the popsicle recipe from Cooking Classy is sure to steal the show with ingredients like fresh watermelon, kiwi and coconut milk – YUM! Check out the recipe here.
Grilling is a summer staple! Spice it up this summer with these grilled jerk shrimp skewers from Closet Cooking. The spice of the shrimp pairs so well with the refreshing and cooling pineapple – definitely a winning combination! This one isn’t a heavy dish, perfect for the summer heat.
Beat the heat with The Cozy Apron’s scrumptious Rainbow Fruit Salad! This isn’t your ordinary boring fruit salad. This recipe includes fresh mint AND a citrus –honey dressing! This is definitely something that will be in my fridge all summer long.
Need a side dish for your jerk shrimp & pineapple skewers? I’ve got one for you with this amazing & unique pasta salad! Kalamata olives, chunks of feta cheese & a lemon-herb vinaigrette make this one unforgettable. Gimme Some Oven’s pasta salad is perfect for bringing to someone else’s house when they’re hosting too.
Fresh key lime is synonymous with summer days. The Silly Girl’s Kitchen has a recipe for individual FROZEN key lime pies – AHHH! If you’re a key lime freak like me, then these are for you! She makes these with silicone cupcake cups to create the perfect serving size. I can’t wait to indulge in these this summer.
