This is such a wonderful time of year, Ja-Vie gals! There’s a familiar autumn crisp in the air and a crunch of fall leaves under our Ja-Vie’s. We all know what the traditional Thanksgiving holiday consists of: turkey, football, and most importantly – FAMILY! As much as I absolutely love a conventional holiday, I went on the hunt for some out-of-the-box items and activities to spice things up this year with a twist on Thanksgiving. Who’s with me?
You can’t do Thanksgiving without something pumpkin, right?! For a unique sweet treat, I absolutely love mochi ice cream! If you’ve never had it, it’s a small ball of ice cream wrapped in a soft, pounded sticky rice cake. Any flavor is equally amazing, but for this season I LOVE the pumpkin mochi ice cream from Trader Joe’s!
Before indulging in one of my favorite meals of the year, I like to burn some calories. Since the gym probably won’t be open on Thanksgiving, why not participate in a local “Turkey Trot” run? Turkey Trots can be found all over the country so let’s all run for a good cause together!
An amazing apron:
Let’s jazz it up in the kitchen, shall we? Put away that boring white cooking apron and spruce it up with something vibrant, bold, and beautiful! Look and feel great! Pick a fun pattern – such as an amazing autumn pattern. That’s sure to make your mood merry and bright.
We can’t forget about our feet! Running around in the kitchen all day, chasing the kiddos, and cheering for your favorite football team is sure to take its toll on our little piggies – unless you’re wearing your favorite Ja-Vie flats! Don’t let aching feet hold you back on Thanksgiving, dress them up in the most comfortable & stylish ballet flats around. Remember, when your feet feel good, YOU feel good!
Tablescape with a twist:
Your Thanksgiving table is just as important as the food! You don’t have to go all out and spend a ton of that hard-earned money – there are so many simple, classic, and fun ideas out there! You could set everyone’s place setting with a sprig of rosemary in his or her napkins or make a mini pumpkin centerpiece. The options are truly endless & so is your imagination.
This time of year is absolutely delightful! Want to see what else inspires me for the holiday? Visit our Pinterest board about all things fall, including my favorite Turkey Day recipes, tablescape ideas (with free printables), and ideas to keep the kids entertained! Happy ThanksPinning!
